Windscreen replacement, done on your driveway
Safety-standard glass, bonded properly, guaranteed for 12 months. From £90 fitted.
When a screen has to be replaced
A chip can often be filled. A crack usually cannot. Once damage spreads past roughly 30cm, reaches the edge of the glass, or sits in the driver's line of sight, the screen has lost structural strength and needs replacing.
That matters more than it sounds: a bonded windscreen contributes to the roof's strength in a rollover and provides the backstop the passenger airbag inflates against.
- Cracks longer than 30cm. These keep travelling with temperature changes and vibration.
- Damage at the glass edge. Edge cracks compromise the bond line and spread fastest.
- Anything in your eyeline. An MOT failure, and repair resin leaves slight distortion.

Common questions
Around 60 to 90 minutes to fit. The adhesive then needs about an hour to cure before the car is safe to drive, so allow two to three hours from arrival to driving away.
Glass that meets British and European safety standards, either from the original manufacturer or an equivalent-grade supplier. Tell us the registration and we will confirm which is going in before you book.
No, but it does need recalibrating once the new screen is in, otherwise the camera reads the road through slightly different glass. We quote for this up front rather than adding it afterwards.
Most policies include glass cover with a fixed excess, and many customers find our price is close to that excess. We will tell you honestly which route works out cheaper for your situation.
